Description: Shows all of the J. S. Cooper Building and the storefront of Craven's as well as the business of Frank's Tavern next door. Probably taken before 1950. It has been said that when the ferries were coming to the Independence landing that someone would watch for the boats to come in from the turret atop the Cooper building. In that way everyone would be ready to load their goods for the big cities north.
